Our Services
Hands-On Care
After determining what the likely underlying cause to your pain & symptoms are, if necessary, we will utilize a number of hands-on techniques to address the area. This includes working on muscle tightness, joint restriction, & mobility deficits to improve pain, motion, and your ability to move more efficiently. Not everyone needs hands-on care so this will depend on you and your body. Moreover, some days this is more useful than others so we will take it day-by-day to treat you and your body as needed.
Education & Empowerment
During your session, we will spend time diving into your specific areas of involvement. One of my favorite parts of being a PT is educating my clients on how the body is interconnected and how our mental / physical / emotional selves play a role in physical symptoms. This is highly empowering and allows you to make educated and informed decisions regarding your care. You know your body best, it’s my job to empower you to see how incredible it is.
Trigger Point Dry Needling
This is a treatment technique that uses very small monofilament needles to address trigger points within muscles directly. This often elicits a “twitch” response within the muscle to help improve pain, muscle length, activation, and recruitment during movement. This is highly beneficial for people who have been experiencing pain that doesn’t seem to go away. It is important to note that needling can be very effective on it’s own, though it is generally more effective when combined with movement to achieve long term benefits.
Movement
This includes various combinations of mobility, stretching, muscle activation, strength & control. During the initial evaluation (& every subsequent visit), we will assess how your body feels during movement. This will help inform treatment options for you. Movement has been shown to provide long term benefits in pain, dysfunction and symptom management. It is worth noting that time and consistency are also factors that need to be taken into consideration when determining progress in symptoms.
